“After 3 great weeks in Japan we’re are back in Switzerland. One week too early to have seen cherry blossom. Your guide was great and specially the Sou Sou shop was a very good address. Unfortunately I bought too small sizes for my twin boys and soon they will not be able to wear the kimonos I bought. A good reason to come back :-).”

“We are back from Japan, and had a great time. We spent 2 weeks in Tokyo. This was our 2nd trip to Japan but our first with our 10 month old baby, and having your guide made things much easier. Being able to find playrooms close to the locations we were visiting was really great, and made our trip much more enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the one at the Loft in Shibuya!”

“We just got back from Tokyo with our 1 & 3 year old. Your guide was brilliant, thank you!”

“Just signed up for your interactive city map — it’s AWESOME! Thank you so much Kate! Even more excited (and less nervous) about our trip to Tokyo now…!”

Emily, 16th April 2015

As a mother of two young kids, there has been no more helpful resource for me than Kate’s Tokyo Guide. In the guide, every neighborhood has an exhaustive list of all the great spots to go for food, fun and much-needed caffeinated drinks. The online map makes each of the locations easy to find, and is especially useful when you end up in a new neighborhood and just don’t know where to go. But I think the Tips section of the Tokyo Guide is worth it all on its own – it answered all of my questions about where to buy diapers and wipes, where to go in case of a medical emergency and how to plan a stress-free day on the Tokyo trains. I can’t recommend this guide more highly!”

Anna, mother of two in Tokyo, 2015

“The eBook is really thorough, it boosts my confidence just by gone through! My husband, our 1 yo baby, and I will visit Tokyo early Sept.”

Jessy, 17 July 2016

“Brilliant. Thank you so much. The guide has been great. We went to do some shopping in Omotesando this afternoon and with the weather getting steadily worse was able to find the little play area in Omotesando Hills to dry out and let the little one get out of the stroller for a while!”

Claire, traveling in Tokyo with her baby

“The guide is great! Very informative and useful. I’ll be travelling alone with my 19 month old (yes just us two!!) to Tokyo next Wednesday and I feel more prepared with your Tokyo guide!”

About Kate Neath

(Click to play video)

My name is Kate Neath, founder of Tokyo Urban Baby and creator of THE TOKYO GUIDE.

My goal is to help you enjoy Tokyo with your baby!

I have been living in Japan for over 10 years, and I know how hard it can be to travel here with a baby and find your way around Tokyo.

My first outing was a disaster – I was perched on the edge of a stool in Sega Fredo coffee shop in Naka-Meguro, trying to breastfeed my suddenly crying and hungry baby, and then trying to change a pooy nappy on a small bench next to the sink in the cafe toilet!

After that experience, I started to research online in Japanese and do exploring around the city, and gradually my list and knowledge of all the hidden baby-friendly places grew.

I wanted to share all these finds with other parents in the same situation as me, so I started Tokyo Urban Baby with video tutorials, maps, and photos to make it as easy as possible to find all these wonderful baby-friendly places.

As Tokyo Urban Baby grew, I started to receive emails from parents traveling to Tokyo with their baby and asking for advice. It was then that I realised I needed to create a guidebook to organise all my information, tips and advice in one place. This led to the launch of The Tokyo Guide!

Tokyo is actually one of the most baby-friendly cities in the world. It is my goal to help you discover all it has to offer.

I hope you love The Tokyo Guide as much as I do, and I look forward to meeting you inside the members site!

xx Kate
